CALL FOR PROPOSALS
(Fund by the European Commission)

The ongoing outbreaks of H5N1 Avian Influenza in Indonesia have had a significant impact. Since August 2003, more than 10 million livestock have been affected and the H5N1 virus has crossed the species barrier resulting in at least 135 confirmed human cases with 110 deaths. Moreover, the potential exists for the H5N1 Avian Influenza virus to trigger a human pandemic.

Research on clinical disease, virology and epidemiology of H5N1 in Indonesia is needed to understand the ecology and variability in transmission to human. To foster essential research, WHO requests for proposal that will then be evaluated through a review process. The awards will then be made to compentent researchers and institutions focused on research of local scientists and public health professionals. Areas for research include:

1.       Studies of disease ecology, transmission, and epidemiology.
2.       Studies of clinical spectrum and management of disease.

Light Pillar - Natural Phenomenon

Light Pillars Light Pillars are natural phenomena created by the reflection of sunlight or the moon from ice crystals near a parallel surface from a horizontal plane. This phenomenon usually occurs when the sun begins to set. Besides that this phenomenon can also be caused by the existence of light sources on earth (terrestrial). Hello guys, I feel happy can meet you again,friends. Now I want tell you about my experience and my kindness teacher.            At that time, I was 7 years old or on 1st grade. At that time, I'm very  often sick and also on that day. On the morning, i went to school as usual. I am very excited to go to school because i have many kind friends and teachers. I attended class 1A. I have two home room teachers, Ms. Rika and Ms. Mauna. In the first lesson i can followed the class well. But suddenly i felt headache and nausea. My face became pale. Ms. Rika who saw that immediately ask me. " Why are you so limp,Nur? are you sick?" Asked her that time. But i can't answered that question. I'm very confused what should i say. At last, Ms. Rika brought me to the health room. The room is so narrow, and i slept on the floor groaned by carpet because when that time my school is not as good as now. But it's ok.
