Light Pillar - Natural Phenomenon

Light Pillars

Light Pillars are natural phenomena created by the reflection of sunlight or the moon from ice crystals near a parallel surface from a horizontal plane. This phenomenon usually occurs when the sun begins to set. Besides that this phenomenon can also be caused by the existence of light sources on earth (terrestrial).

For example, for example, artificial light on street lights that are mostly found in cities at night, car lights, and other strong light sources. This Light Pillars event basically occurs frequently in winter, for example in the polar regions or in other cold temperatures. Light Pillars will often appear when winter or snow in the form of a collection of ice crystals that reflect strong light from the sun or moon toward the ground with the help of cold temperatures.

When viewed from a distance, Light Pillars will indeed appear or look like Aurora. But in reality, Light Pillars is not an Aurora, and vice versa. Aurora is a phenomenon of light emitting light in the ionosphere in a planet due to the interaction between magnetic fields with charged particles emitted by the sun. If seen further, Light Pillars and Aurora are very different.

As we know in general, on earth, Aurora only occurs in the area around the poles, while Light Pillars do not only occur in the area around the poles but also in areas that have cold temperatures. If the Aurora generally occurs in a wavy shape, it is not the same as Light Pillars which are formed with a more regular shape or generally perpendicular (vertical). On the other hand, Aurora is believed to be able to disrupt radio waves, while Light Pillars have no effect or do not interfere with radio waves.

In general, natural phenomena occur at His will without human intervention on earth. However, not always natural phenomena occur because of the element of coincidence but the natural phenomenon of Light Pillars is also made by humans on the element of intentionality. One of the most affected Light Pillar is "Tribute In Light" New York City in the former ruins of the World Trade Center twin buildings.
